Africa Lotto has donated food stuffs to Rose of Sharon Welfare Organisation, a children’s home called in Zimre Park amidst pomp and funfair.
The organisation, founded in 2004 by Dr Fatima Maruta takes care of 205 orphans and of the 205, 85 stay at the institution while 120 are from the surrounding communities.
Africa Lotto through its brand ambassador Mukudzei Makombe affectionately known as Jah Prayzah extended a helping hand on Friday and handed over the food stuffs such as mealie meal, rice and cooking oil among many others.
This is part of Africa Lotto’s corporate social responsibility in creating long lasting relationships with various communities.
Rose of Sharon’s staff and orphans expressed gratitude through various performances and poems which set a joyous mood at the institution.
Jah Prayzah said he was happy to be part of Africa Lotto’s initiative of helping orphans and the disadvantaged people in the community.
He also advised the orphans to take care of themselves, refrain from mischievous activities and prepare themselves for a brighter future.
Dr. Maruta thanked Africa Lotto for the generous donation and said it will go a long way in helping the orphans.
“We would like to thank Africa Lotto and Jah Prayzah for such a humble and generous donation. A big thanks you goes to Mr. Brian Makwabarara for giving us an early Christmas treat and we are greatly indebted to him. Let this not be the last time but an everlasting relationship,” she said.
